Hey guys :)

I just wanted to give you an update of what I've been up to lately.

Last month (October) I decided at the drop of a hat to exhibit at the Melbourne Cake Bake & Sweets Show.

I received an email on Friday morning from the event organiser offering me a last minute stand at the show, I had 2 hours before they went to print with the show guide to decide if I'd take it. After a phone call to my mum hurridly asking advice, my head was saying don't be stupid you can't pull this off in a week, while my gut was saying you've got this girl. With only minutes to spare I made the decision, I was going for it.

I had 6 days to prepare, 100's of cake toppers to make, styling and decor to work out, marketing material to design and continue processing my daily work load around my 16 month old whirlwind son. I called in some help from a few fantastic ladies in the cake world. The amazing duo Kat & Danni from Mint & Sugar Parties helped me with faux cakes, linen, balloons, vases and lolly jars, the gorgeous Kristy from Sprinkles Spiced & Everything Iced donated beautiful candy pink cupcakes for my display.

Thursday came around and I loaded the car full of goodies, hoping and praying that I could make this work. I headed off to the Melbourne Exhibition & Convention Centre to start bump in, within 2 hours all of my hard work was coming to life, my stand looked exactly as I has dreamt it would.

The show ran from Friday to Sunday, with the help of my best friend Kirsty, my niece Mikayla and my mum Sharon we did it! We took Sugar Boo to the Cake Bake & Sweets Show. We met so many amazing & supportive people over the 3 days, the compliments on my stands styling and the appreciation of the hard work leading up to the show was warmly felt by all of us over the duration.

The Cake Bake & Sweets Show Melbourne was a huge success not only for myself personally but for my little business Sugar Boo.

I can't wait to be back at the show in 2017
